Where the Deer and the Antelope Play

We did some exploring today to get a feel for what is here and we are already so taken by this place. It is so different than the last place we stayed even though it is only four hours away. We drove around and took in some local sights and saw antelope and buffalo along with the traditional horses and cows and we enjoyed the difference in the landscape.

We then headed back to Thousand Trails for some family fun. We did some bike riding and played pickle ball which we always enjoy. The highlight of our day though, was this:Not merely the deer themselves, but the fact they let us get up close and personal with them.
It was like our own personal petting zoo. Or at least they humored us into believing so.So many times we visit places that have things there that Austin loves, but rarely is that true for Auburn so it was pure delight for me to see her having something she loves at this place. There is nothing better than seeing joy on their faces and she was full of it today. She is so in tune with animals that she knew exactly how to get them closer to her than the rest of us and how to make them stay longer. She really does have a gift of being the animal whisperer. We are looking forward to this being a part of our daily routine for the next few weeks and are aware of how rare of a gift this may be. We think this is the good life most days and some days feel especially good, and this was one of those days for me.

Living the life where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play.
