Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there, no matter how you became a mother. We've had bio mothers in our lives, we've had adoptive mothers join our lives and we've had mothers of the heart in our lives. We've been richly blessed with grandmothers that we loved dearly and are now gone. So this day brings many emotions for me.

To celebrate, Nathan and the kids spoiled me rotten all day long beginning with breakfast in bed-which Nathan actually does every single morning for me to dinner and cake and ice cream. I received calls from the kids not with us and that made my day. And of course my baby tried to outshine them all by giving me a gift from the heart. He often feels that there isn't much he can do to impress me with four people going before him. Well, this year he did something none of them have done before. He knows I love the song Blackbird by the Beatles and learned to play it just for me. Perfect! (Barb I know you are heading to Ireland today, but I just have to get a video clip for you so if you read this-remind me when you get back)

Life is good and being a Mom is part of what makes my life so incredibly good.

I am so far behind on your travels! Welcome to the West, Krystal. And Happy (belated) Mother's Day. You have some great shots of western vistas! Where do you go from here? North into Nevada? Or up through Utah or Cali? My dad lives in Ely, NV. I highly recommend Lehman Caves in White Pine County, NV.

Thank you, Jaci, for the welcome to the West and for the Mother's Day wishes. I hope you had a great Mother's Day too. We are heading into Cali from here, up the coast all the way to WA and then back down through Idaho and Utah. I'll write down your suggestion for Lehman Caves for if/when we are in NV.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day as well! I am just getting caught up on reading my bloglist. My mother's day was pretty busy - writing research papers. LOL.

Thank you, Kandy. I hope your day was wonderful too, even with research papers! I don't know if I've told you this yet or not, but I went to school with being a Mom to my 3 oldest children. It was a real challenge, so I admire what you are doing!

hi Krystal,
nothing to do with mothers day at all :) - but I was thinking, do you actually have a sort of map or somthing on the blog, where one can see your itinerary cross the states at a quick glance? Mette

Oh, thank you. :^) I appreciate that. College definitely is a challenge, but it is worth it! It's always been a goal of mine. :^)
