Daryl and Diana used to live in Tampa so they knew of this local find where you can see manatees in the wild. It is a
site where Tampa Electric has a power plant

and the discharge canal has warm water which makes it a great place for the manatees to winter at.

Their website says they have over a million visitors a year. Wow. The viewing and the parking are free which makes it an ever better treat in my book.

Daryl and Diana visited the museum which we didn't even notice and there is a pier to walk out on. I wish we would have been able to see more of the manatees as they were pretty hidden in the water, but I do agree with Diana that it is still neat to see them in the wild which is different than when in an aquarium.
