After Joshua Tree, we stopped here. There was a bunch of interesting history starting from the civil war and ending with the Iraq Freedom. I liked the tank yard best of all.
Oh, man. My Benjamin (13 yrs) would *love* this place. He just soaks up military history - well, really, any kind of history. It's going on our list of "stuff we'd like to see whenever we become travelling RVers as opposed to parked ones..."
Becky, he would probably love this place then! We are coming back to Florida for the winter, so hopefully your guy and mine (who is 14) can talk history/military stuff together then.
As we were seeing the world, we shared what we see with underprivileged children. If you'd like to help this great cause, you can read more about how to help here: Reach the World
"Our aim in education is to give a full life. We owe it to them to initiate an immense number of interests. Life should be all living, and not merely a tedious passing of time; not all doing or all feeling or all thinking - the strain would be too great - but, all living; that is to say, we should be in touch wherever we go, whatever we hear, whatever we see, with some manner of vital interest."
